The Altima is available in seven trim levels. Each build upon the features of the previous in order to create a comprehensive range of vehicles for every budget. The base model is the 2.5, which starts at 22,500 MSRP, and features Bluetooth hands free calling, power mirrors, and an Advanced Drive-Assist Display.The next model, the 2.5 S is a sportier version of the 2.5, and is only $400 more, putting it's MSRP at a very reasonable $22,900. It includes an audio system with a 5" color touch display, as well as SIRI eyes free and cruise control.THE 2.5 SR builds on the S with added manual model power shifters, and a focus on sport-style driving, with a spoiler plus leather wrapped steering wheel. It's MSRP is a jump up from the 2.5 S, at $24,470. The 2.5 SV adds a remote engine start and stop feature plus advanced safety features, and stylish 17" aluminum-alloy wheels, all for $25,460 MSRP. The 2.5 SL is the last in the 2.5 range, and has an autodimming interior mirror plus a phenomenal sound system that utilizes Bose Premium audio speakers. It starts at $28,570 MSRP. The next step up is the 3.5 SR, which has a 3.5 liter engine, instead of the 2.5. This upgraded engine features a manual mode for excellent control over the vehicle and a sportier feel. The MSRP for the 3.5 SR is $27,990.The 3.5 SL is the top of the line model, and has a power sliding glass moon roof and 18" aluminum-alloy wheels, plus all the perks of a top-tier compact. This vehicle runs at $32,690 MSRP.

The 2.5 range of vehicles gets a snappy 39 miles to the gallon on the highway and 27 in the city, as well as a respectable 179 horsepower. The upgraded 3.5 liter engine has a slight EPA rating dip to compensate for the better engine, but it still gets 32 mpg on the highway and 22 in the city. The Altima was built to rival the hybrid market, and it shows in the EPA rating.

The sports models of the Nissan Altima will handle tighter, but all perform great for daily driving in both cities and on the highway. For those who need a little extra beneath the hood, the 3.5 provides a boost to the performance, which makes the Altima a joy to drive on the highway.

While the headspace on the Altima may be a little snug, typical for compact vehicles, there's plenty of room to spread out your legs in both the front and back seat. The interior is stylish and designed for comfort and ease of access. Plus, even the base model is equipped with hands free talking for a safer driving experience.

All of the Altimas are safe vehicles, but the 2.5 S and up models have intelligent key and automatic headlights. The higher up you go, the better features, including lane detection, cross traffic warnings, and predictive forward collision warnings.
