Exterior
The 2016 Nisan Sentra offers five trim levels — the S, FE+ S, SV, SR, and SL. These trims have a number of similarities, as well as many differences. Smart auto halogen headlights come standard on all trims of the Sentra. Fog lights are standard on the SR and SL trims, but not on the others. There is a rear spoiler on the FE+ S and SR trims; additionally, the SR trim offers integrated LED brake lights. Dual power outside mirrors are standard on all trims, and you can have these heated with the SV, SR, and SL trims. In addition, the SR and SL trims include LED turn signal indicators in the mirrors.Most of the trims are the same size, however, there are a few small differences. All trims have a wheelbase that is 106.3 inches. The length is 182.1 inches, except for the SR trim, which is 182.5. The car is 69.3 inches wide and 58.9 inches high. The drag coefficient is 0.29 on the S, SV, and SR. It is 0.27 on the FE+ S and 0.3 on the SL.
Power
The engine that comes with this car is a 1.8-liter DOHC I4. The car gets 130 horsepower and 128 lb.-ft. of torque. All trims offer a Continuously variable valve timing control system for the intake and exhaust valves.
Performance
The 2016 Nissan Sentra is a front-wheel drive vehicle. The S trim comes with a standard six-speed manual transmission, where the other trims all have the Xtronic CVT transmission. The manual transmission gets 27 mpg city and 36 mpg highway. All trims except the FE+ S get 29 mpg city and 38 mpg highway with the Xtronic CVT. However, the FE+ S gets 30 mpg city and 40 mpg highway.
Interior
All trims offer Bluetooth hands-free phone system. This allows you to stay safe and comfortable in your car. There is an optional Nissan Connect with Mobile apps, and depending on the trim level you choose, you can get navigation and Sirius XM satellite radio with this feature. The rear-view monitor is not available on the S and FE+ S, but is standard on all other trims.
Safety Features
There are a number of safety features in the 2016 Nissan Sentra. The car comes with Vehicle Dynamic Control and Traction Control. All trims offer the Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) system, as well as child-safety rear door locks. There is an optional blind spot warning and forward emergency braking system that is standard on the SR and SL trims. The car also offers a tire pressure monitoring system.
