The 2016 Maxima has five different trim levels from which to choose. The line starts out with the S, which has a starting MSRP of $32,410. Next comes the SV with an MSRP starting at $34,390, followed by the SL at $36,890. Then comes the SR with a starting MSRP of $37,670. Rounding out the line is the Platinum with a starting MSRP of $39,860.

The Nissan Maxima is made with convenience and comfort in mind. Each car comes standard with features such as voice recognition commands, a multi-touch color control monitor, display commander, automatic temperature control, and push button ignition.

The S comes with an 8-way power driver's seat while the SV, SL, SR, and Platinum come with an 8-way power driver's seat with lumbar support and thigh support extension. While the SV and SL come with additional luxuries like heated front seats, the SR and Platinum take it one step further by providing heated and cooled front seats. The SL, SR, and Platinum also come standard with a heated steering wheel.

All the vehicles in the Maxima line come with Nissan's famous 300 horsepower 3.5L 24-valve V6 engine. In addition, all the cars also come standard with the Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS) on both the intake and exhaust valves for more individual shift points and better fuel economy. Finally, all five trim levels also have standard features such as Nissan Direct Ignition System and front-wheel drive.

The Maxima is built lower and lighter so it can take corners with ease. In fact, the rear suspension is made with monotube dampers, which is a feature normally reserved for sports car. Drivers who really want to take control can put Maxima's Drive Mode Selector into Sport and feel the car's response get sharper as shifting becomes cleaner and faster. When it's put back into Normal mode, the car goes back to a smooth and fuel-efficient ride. Every car in the Maxima line gets an estimated 30 miles per gallon on the highway and 22 miles per gallon in the city.

Safety behind the wheel is important at Nissan. That's why the 2016 Maximas come with important features like hands-free text messaging assistant. Additionally, the S, SV, SL, and SR all come with RearView Monitor while the Platinum comes with Around View Monitor.

The SL, SR, and Platinum come with extra features such as Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), and Forward Emergency Braking (FEB). Additionally, Platinum comes with Moving Object Detection (MOD) and Driver Attention Alert (DAA).

All the vehicles also come with the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System that includes front-passenger and driver seat-mounted side-impact air bags and roof-mounted air bags designed for rollovers or side impacts.
