Exterior:
Deemed the 4-Door Sports Car®, the 2020 Nissan Maxima is sporty from all angles. When designing this current generation of the Nissan Maxima, Nissan visited the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels® for design cues. The result was a special metal-stamping technique being developed to add the unique fighter-jet sweep to its body lines and deeply scalloped doors. Another result of this approach is the “floating roof” appearance. The pillars of the car blend seamlessly into the glasswork, causing the roof to seem like its hovering above the cabin, just as the canopy of a fighter jet. The Maxima also houses the signature boomerang-shaped headlights featuring an attractive LED signature line that always stays illuminated. LED’s are also seen in the wraparound taillights, and the exclusively-styled aluminum-alloy wheels add extra flair.
Interior:
The influences of a modern jet fighter are also found inside. The center-console is tilted 7-degrees to the driver for easier view, with this slight shift every knob, button, and dial is ideally positioned. Sport-styled heated and cooled front seats weren’t just designed for maximum comfort, but were also built at the ideal height and width to conform to your body to help keep you in place, even in high-speed cornering. The glow of the gauges in an aircraft’s cockpit inspired Nissan to design the Maxima so ambient lighting will cast a warm and welcoming glow throughout the cabin. Along with interior comfort, also comes technological convenience with the available Remote Engine Start System that allows you to use your compatible smartphone to cool down or heat up your Maxima to the perfect temperature. Also available are a dual panoramic moonroof, and premium Ascot Leather-Appointed Seating with Diamond-Quilted Alcantara® inserts.
Maxima SR and Performance:
The Maxima SR combines 19” aluminum-alloy wheels and a unique sport-tuned suspension to give you a fun and dynamic drive. The 19” wheels provide outstanding grip along with a sharp steering response. The sport-tuned suspension helps ensure the Maxima can handle your favorite roads in a way that only sports cars can provide. It also offers column-mounted paddle shifters and racing-inspired Alcantara® insert steering wheel. Part of the reason of the sports-car inspired design of the Maxima can, at least in part, be contributed to its horsepower-to-weight ratio. The lighter a car is, and the more horsepower it possesses, the faster it’ll go.
Safety:
Safety is paramount, so the 2020 Maxima comes standard with a comprehensive suite of safety features called Safety Shield 360. This includes Blind-Spot Monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams. The Nissan Maxima was built with a Zone Body construction that helps absorbs impacts. The Maxima also comes with six standard air bags, the LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children), and an industry-first Snug Kids® Child Safety Seat Guide that lists child seats that fit the rear seats of Nissan vehicles as well as offering tips on correct installation.
